Thanksgiving Break and Our Life

So we are back from our Thanksgiving Break. We had a great time in PA. It was weird being away from home and then coming home and feeling like I never left. Daria and I both felt that way, and now here I am back in CT living my life. We had a great time with Kurt, playing video games and watching 1408. That movie was scarier than I thought it would be. Besides Thanksgiving, not too much has been going on. I've been writing a lot for my other blog YNFVGB and working at F&O and Daria has been doing Cybercoders and watching movies everyday. I know I haven't wrote on this blog in a long time but it's just not too much has been going on other than work and some occasional play. Kevin and Dawn did come over the other weekend to play Wii. We had a great time. Daria has been driving to church every week. She is coming along quickly and I think she will be ready to take her test soon. All she needs to learn now is parallel parking. Speaking of driving we bought a 2005 Mini Cooper last week. We love it, it is definitely a luxury to us. We don't deserve it. That should be easy for Daria to parallel park in. I will make sure to post pictures of the our Mini as soon as I have the time. Until then, keep checking back here because you never know when I may write. If you haven't checked out YNFVGB then click the link of the sidebar. Thank you!

Our time in Maine

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while since I had a new post up but it's only because we've been busy. We went to Maine with Kurt over the weekend and boy did we have a great time. Before we went we just planned on where we would sleep and a few stops on the way but the rest was up in the air. We also used Kurt's new GPS to navigate. Everything turned out better than we could have ever imagined. The weather was perfect, the timing was perfect, even where we ate was perfect. God was really watching over us on this great trip and you can definitely see it in the new Web Album we posted today. Make sure you go and check out all 396 beautiful pictures from our weekend in Maine (we took a total of 1,300 pics). I know they will make you want to come with us next time we go, because we are definitely going again and hopefully soon. So sit back and relax and enjoy the photos. We also posted another short album of some random pictures of the little time we spent with Kurt in Connecticut. I hope you enjoy both albums and please let us know what you think!! Also, new poll added!

Apple Pickin'

Today on this beautiful Sunday afternoon we went apple picking with Kevin, Dawn, and Rowen. We took a hay ride with no hay to the top of the hill where the apple orchard was. We spent about an hour picking all different kinds of apples. It was alot of fun. Rowan was riding this one pumpkin like a horse, lol. I recently bought a shirt at aeropostale (yesterday) and was running through the orchard and snagged it and ripped my sleeve on a branch. Not cool. Make sure you check out the web album I posted to see how big that rip really was! :) We had a really good day and the weather was great, almost too hot actually. What a great October it's turning out to be.

CornMazing!

So yesterday we did the corn maze. We took some pretty funny pictures that I uploaded to a new Web Album so make sure you go check them out. Even though they gave us a map the maze was still really hard. We had a great time and might go back some time with the church. Make sure you check out the videos at the bottom of this blog.

Fuss & O'Neill

So this week was my first week at Fuss & O'Neill. I started Monday with the new employee orientation. It was a long set of meetings with all the different admin people and IT people. Then we separated to go to the designated areas. I am located in Environmental Health and Facilities Division. It's on the third floor in the second building. I work with a great group of people. The main people I am with all day are Vice President, Mike Callahan, and Electrical CAD Manager, Allen Pigeon. They are both very funny guys and I do enjoy my time with them. They are fun to work for. I was given a nice little cubicle, as big as everyone elses. I have a computer with two screens and so nice desk space. I'm excited to add some of my own stuff becuase they told me to make myself at home. I added a few things but I want to add a Polish flag and maybe a Steelers flag to make the Patriot fans mad. During the week I did basic things such as editting some excel sheets and making some backgrounds for the AutoCAD techs. I also sat down with Mike and we agreed on some conventions for naming projects so I wrote my first Memo and sent it out on Tuesday. I really enjoy all of the other people there, they are all fun to work with. I feel like i'm already close with everyone and i'm excited that I got this opportunity. Tomorrow I start my second week so we will see how it goes! Thanks again for all the prayer for me to get this job. :) :)

First Day of Work

So today was my first day of work. I woke up at 6:45 and showered and then read my devotional and woke Daria up to make me breakfast for my first day. It was so nice of her. She made me bacon. I got to work at 8:30 because I was scheduled to meet with some woman for new employee orientation. I sat in one classroom with 4 other people for a few hours and we listened to many different people talk about a lot of different things. Then I met with my Supervisor and we talked about the position and he told me what he expected from me and so on. I really like my supervisor and my mentor. They are both really cool and fun. I have a cubicle, phone extension, business card, and two computer screens so I'm important now. :) My first day went well and I hope tomorrow will be good too. When I got home we waited till Greg got home and then we ate and then when Kurt was back we hooked up with him and played some more Halo 3. We had a good time except 1 second before we beat the mission the game froze so now we have to beat the whole mission over again, and it was long! Goodnight!

Resevior #2

Today we woke to Greg saying breakfast was ready and Pastor was here. So we ate breakfast and talked to Pastor for a while and then after he left we decided to stop at Greg's favorite resevior which is really big and beautiful. We walked around for a while and enjoyed the scenery. Daria accidentally fell when she was trying to get on this one rock to take a picture and she scraped her arm pretty bad ;) Afterwards we took a long drive on some nice scenic road. We passed some really nice New England homes. We stopped at Starbucks and then came home and ate. Now we are going to watch Nacho Libre. Peace!

What's on Patrick's Mind

I just feel like I need to let out what's in my mind right now. I don't really know of any other place to write this but here on our blog so many of you may not even be interested. But I just wanted to let out my opinion on Apple's stance on the iPhone. I'm pretty disgusted with them right now. See let me break it down, Apple comes out with a sweet new phone that can do everything, but the truth is "everything" is not enough these days. Consumers want to be able to do "everything" and more. So we wait patiently for a new update or something to get another application thinking that Apple might surprise us and fill the iPhone screen with some more cool things and maybe get rid of the Stocks application. First update comes and only "fixes bugs." Next update comes and again only "fixes bugs." Then on a huge day for Apple, the day that they announce the new iPods they announce that they will be adding WiFi iTunes to the iPhone. Ok, that's pretty cool but for anyone who installed AppTapp and is taking advantage of all the cool third-party apps out there it's like, "Wow, big deal, we've been enjoying all these other things the whole time." Oh and another thing that is included in the new iPhone update: A new calculator icon. See that right there is like Apple is trying to make us laugh or something. They took 2 months to release the Wifi iTunes Store which should have came with the iPhone at launch and they updated the Calculator Icon. The whole time they are coming up with these lame updates there are people out there who are making these killer apps that I'm just not willing to let go of until Apple starts picking up the pace. I don't need a new calculator icon, all the icons on my iPhone have been changed and look great becuase of the SummerBoard application, and you know what, I can change them anytime I want. Sure Apple doesn't have to give us anything more, but they shouldn't be trying to block the developers out there who are making the iPhone worth buying. I think that these developers are helping sell iPhones. I read a story on Gizmodo in which they re-reviewed the iPhone and now that third-party apps won't work with the new update they changed their verdict to 'don't buy, wait." That's a big deal for Gizmodo to be throwing that out there for consumers to chew on. Is it worth it Apple? Developers are already creating amazing apps in only 2 months after the iPhone was released, I can't wait to see what will come in the future, if the future isn't dead already. The question here is: Which one would you rather have (left or right).

Go and Digg this story here, thanks!

iPhone Update 1.1.1

Well lately I've been reading a lot about the new iPhone update 1.1.1. This update adds a new feature to the iPhone which is an actual iTunes Store. You can browse and buy music right from your phone. But this update has been causing a lot of problems for iPhone modders. First of all if you unlocked your iPhone and use it with a different service like Verizon and so on then if you do this update your phone won't work anymore. But for people like me who just have third-party apps installed on my phone all it does is wipe it clean and install the update, no harm done, but the apps will not work anymore. But you know what, I'm not willing to trade in all these awesome third-party apps just for some wifi iTunes store. So I'm waiting patiently for them to make this app installer compatible with the new update until I do the update. If you guys could stop over to this website here and vote for "It's bunk, I'm sticking with firmware 1.0.2 for the 3rd party applications" I would really be happy. If they get enough votes then Nullriver will probably start working on updating AppTapp to work with the new iPhone update or they will just keep making third-party apps for the people who don't update. AppTapp is the program that lets you install third-party apps so easily (pictured top left). Thanks everyone! Goodnight!

Hey guys

Hey it's been like a day or two since we wrote last. So I figured I'd write and say whats up around here. Lately we've just been hanging around the house. I've been playing Xbox a lot while I still have a good amount of time before I start working full-time. Yes, I got the job for anyone out there who missed it. :) Daria has been doing cybercoders and playing The Sims. We walked to the tower on Wednesday and today we went to the bank and post office and then to Olive Garden. We came home and then watched some Survivor and then Daria and I joined up with Kurt over Xbox Live to play some Halo 3 campaign together. We beat the first 3 missions. It was a lot of fun and I could have played all night. Daria did really well at one point in the game I was protecting us with a bubble shield and she accidentally threw a grenade while in the shield and we all got hurt pretty bad lol. :) We really enjoyed it and will be meeting up with Kurt tomorrow to continue. Also tomorrow Greg and I will be helping some lady set up a drum set or something and Daria will be baby sitting for a couple hours again. Also one of Greg's students asked him if Daria could possibly do a recording for some studio because they need a native polish speaking person to do voice-over or something, we are not sure exactly what but they will pay her and it seems like a really cool opportunity. So you can pray for that for us. That's about it over here. We might go to the beach on Saturday and then we are apple-picking with Dawn and Kevin on Sunday. Goodnight everyone. :)

Web Ablums

Make sure to check out the new Web Album from our walk around the resevior!!

Our beautiful Sunday...

Today we went to Pastor Earl's church and Greg spoke about camps and about specific campers. He showed a slide show also. We ate at the church afterwards and then came home and Greg and I took a 2 hour nap. I had a weird dream about a firework blowing up on my leg and all this shrapnel getting stuck in my leg, it really hurt in the dream and I was happy to find that it was a dream. After our nap we decided to go take a walk at the local resevior. It was very beautiful. We found a little island and it was pretty shallow water to get there and there were some logs so we tried to get across without getting our feet wet.

I crawled while using a short stick and Greg used two big sticks. Daria just magically walked across with no problem even in flip-flops. After the island we just walked along the dam and really enjoyed the beautiful weather. After that trip we came home and Daria and I cooked some chinese food. It was a little tough and at one point we thought it was going to be horrible but we served it and we all really really enjoyed it.

Pastor joined us and he said he wants us to cook it for everyone at church in about two weeks. Oh man, we'll see about that. It was hard enough for 4 people but it's hard to say no to pastor, he seemed like he really enjoyed it. So you can pray for us. ;P After we ate Daria and I watched some TV and I did a few cybercoders. Then Daria went to play the Sims and I played some Xbox. After that I played Yahtzee on my phone becuase i'm addicted to it and I really wanted to beat Daria's high score. Now it's late and we should get to bed. Hopefully we will get some good news on the job tomorrow. Goodnight everyone!!

Web Album Update

I just finished uploading more pictures to the Web Albums. Make sure you go check them out. I added albums from Elizabeth Park and also our trip to Yale University. We hope you like them and feel free to comment. Also the polls will be closing here soon so vote if you can! I'll make sure to make a new poll tomorrow. Thanks for everyone out there who reads this blog.

Yale University

Today we woke up drank a smoothie and headed to New Haven to walk around Yale University campus. We drove a little under an hour to New Haven and arrived at Yale around 11:00. We decided to do our own tour instead of waiting to do a guided tour. We walked around and made sure to check all the cool stuff. We were looking for some certain place when Greg decided to follow this student into some hall. Not knowing what was ahead Greg decided to look around in there. Once he tried to come back he realized he was locked in and the gate would not open.

Daria and I walked around outside the gate to try to find a way for Greg to get out without him getting in trouble. Luckily he found a way out after some searching. We walked around for about an hour more then decided to head to Pepe's to eat pizza. Pepe's is known for there pizza and I must say it was really good. I was impressed. We stopped to get Italian Ice and then drove to a pier by the sound. We did a quick walk down it and then got in the car and came home.

When we got home we decided to try to make this "flourless chocolate cake" that Daria loves so much at Olive Garden. Everything went well but we just think the recipe wasn't what we were looking for. Dawn said she has a recipe so we will try that out next. Dawn, Kevin, Rowan, Daria, Greg, and I watched the season finale of LOST again for fun. We had a busy day and it was great because I'm anxious to hear if I got the job or not on Monday.
Goodnight!

Elizabeth Park

Today after waking up pretty late and waiting for Fuss & O'Neill to contact me we decided to go to Elizabeth Park. Elizabeth Park is very close to where we live. It's a beautiful park that also has a rose garden. We walked around for a while taking macro photos of the roses and we even saw a crane. This bird was huge. I tried to get a picture of it but they were all blurry. After that we drove to an Organic Foods Market and got some baguette and stuff. We ate all the baguette tonight. Tomorrow we are going to try to make this flourless chocolate cake that Daria loves so much. She usually orders it at Olive Garden but we are going to try to make it. Also we are going to New Haven tomorrow to walk around Yale and eat some good pizza. Hope everyone has a good night and keep praying for this job opportunity. :)

Skype on iPhone

Today I was looking on a site that lists Web 2.0 applications for iPhone. Web 2.0 applications are applications built into internet sites. If you've ever seen AIM Express you will know what I mean. Anyways, I found a Skype application. Daria and I tested it out with her sister and it works very well. I'm not sure how it works but Skype calls me and then her and sets it up as a conference call. It's a little more expensive than doing it on the computer but it's worth it. Daria was talking to her sister and it wasn't even charging my phone, only our Skype credits. Pretty sweet huh? I posted a picture of my current iPhone layout and the actual Skype Application below.

IKEA

Today we decided spur of the moment to go to IKEA in New Haven. It's about 40 minutes away. We had alot fo fun. It was my first time in IKEA and I really enjoyed it. I want IKEA to design my whole interior of my house. :)

We got stuck in bad traffic on the way but luckily we were almost there. We stayed about 2 hours and made sure to check everything. Daria was telling me all the dreams she has for our house or apartments interior.
We actually bought a few things too (well Greg did). No furniture just a few pans, a cutting board, and a flower pot. We almost bought a little blanket that was only $2.50.
All in all IKEA is a sweet store and I can't wait till I can actually start buying stuff there when Daria and I have our own place. I'm happy that IKEA can think of these ideas and all we have to do is copy them. :) Also make sure you check out the Web Albums, I posted all the pictures from our trip to IKEA. There is a good 44 or so. Goodnight!

Hacking the iPhone

After doing some research I decided to take part in hacking my iPhone. After reading Apples stance on the hacking scene (they are neither for it or against it) I decided to try it out. Alot of people have been doing it and it's not really hacking it's basically understanding your iPhone fully. When the iPhone first came out it was really complicated to hack it, but some people who hacked it made an application which makes it super easy for any non-hackers. That is the program that I downloaded and installed on my iPhone. Once I installed it all I had to do was choose from the list of applications that were there. Click install and it would install it right on my phone. Really simple, so make sure you don't think I'm smart or anything. So pictured first is what my iPhone looked like "pre-hack" and the next two pictures are my iPhone now. The first picture of the "post-hacked" iPhone is the apps that I have on my home screen, the next picture is of when you scroll down on the home screen. See, you couldn't even scroll before, I had to install something that would actually let me scroll and be able to see all the apps on my home screen. Still, it wasn't complicated. Pretty cool huh? I was proud of myself a little and I have fallen back in love with my iPhone. :) :)

Polls Closed - New Polls Open!

So the Poll closed today. Locke won. Daria and I were thinking long and hard on what poll to do next, we decided the best way to do it is by having 2 polls. So make sure you check them out there on the right and vote on each of them. Enjoy!

Saturday

Today we woke up at 10:15. Originally we were supposed to get up at 9:00. I scrambled to get ready because we told Greg would would leave for the gym at 10:00. I got downstairs and Greg was also just getting up. Haha. He decided not to go because she couldn't sleep last night so Daria and I went. We stayed for about an hour and a half and came home. We then went to the Apple store to see if I could use my $100 credit. We decided to save it for a printer that we want. After that we stopped at Forever 21 and Daria found a few things that she liked so she used her Birthday money to get them. After that we came home and met with Greg and went to Five Guys for a burger. The burgers were huge! We stopped at Wal-Mart and then came home. Kevin, Dawn and Rowan came over and we watched some Jericho.
I introduced Rowan to our fish and he tried to grab him a few times. I posted some pictures in the album so check them out. Thats about it, we better get to sleep because church is tomorrow. Goodnight!

Web Album

I posted a new web album tonight of some pictures I took of Rowan playing with our fish. Make sure you check it out. Also the poll is about done and it looks like Locke has won. Of course I knew he would win, everybody knows inside that he is the best. I'll make sure to post a new poll tomorrow so get ready to vote!

Nothing Day

Today was a lazy day. We decided not to go to the gym because we
needed to rest our muscles so we slept in. We basically did nothing
all day. It was pretty boring. Greg came home early and cooked some
kabobs for us. They were really good. After that we decided to stop at
Starbucks. I grabbed an application for Daria. I'm hoping she might
give it a try. Anyone out there who is reading this if you could
please leave a comment to boost Daria's confidence I would greatly
appreciate it. I think she would like that too. After Starbucks we
watched the finale of Jericho. Hopefully season 2 will start someday
soon. If you haven't watched Jericho yet you should give it a try,
it's no LOST but it's worth it. Tomorrow we are getting up and going
straight to the gym. Goodnight!
